Lance joined Cavendish Ware in January 2017 to head up the Investment Team at Cavendish Ware, bringing considerable knowledge and experience to the investment process.
Lance graduated from Sheffield University with a BSc in Biological Sciences. Lance started his career in the late 80s, initially as an institutional portfolio manager managing equity portfolios for Mitsui Marine and Fire Insurance Company before migrating into the wealth management sector. Following a spell at ABN Amro Private Banking, where he was Head of Equities, Lance joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and subsequently moved to Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management. He was a senior member of the investment team, managing portfolios of funds for clients and leading the fund due diligence team.
Lance was involved in the successful sale of Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Managers to Julius Baer, a leading Swiss Private bank. However, the idea of being involved in a smaller, growing and more dynamic business eventually led Lance to be introduced to Adrian Ware in 2016. “Being part of a growing wealth management boutique is hugely exiting for me. We can be far more nimble than the bigger players and can really get to understand our clients needs.”
Lance is married with a daughter and when he can find some free time is a keen target shooter and rowing cox. Having been coxing since the age of 9 Lance still competes with many of his crew mates from the 80s and 90s in Masters rowing across the globe.
